The 5.11 ATAC 2.0 6" takes a different approach: an OrthoLite dual-density footbed and Achilles heel flex zone reduce fatigue on hard surfaces, which matters when concrete is your workplace floor. Waterproof and Safety-Certified for Hazardous Conditions
Wet conditions, oil, chemicals, electrical hazards, the list goes on. Your work boots need to be rated for these protective standards, not just marketed as “tough.” The 5.11 ATAC 2.0 Storm runs a SlipStream waterproof and bloodborne pathogen resistant membrane through an 8" upper, keeping water and contaminants out across a full working day. For higher-risk environments, the 5.11 ATAC 2.0 Shield adds a CARBON-TAC safety toe and puncture-resistant board, meeting ASTM F2413 and CSA Z195 standards. Do work boots need to be steel-capped?
Work boots do not always need to be steel-capped. For roles with crush, puncture, or electrical hazards, a safety-toe or EH-rated boot is the correct call. For patrol and law enforcement roles where mobility is prioritised, soft-toe options with EH certification are more common.
